Welcome to Healing Through Time: Insights from Seasoned Physicians
Welcome to my podcast, Healing Through Time: Insights from Seasoned Physicians. I am Joseph (Joey) Lipschitz, an aspiring medical student and recent college graduate. This year, I am working as a Clinical Research Coordinator and applying to medical schools. For as far back as I can remember, I have always had a passion for history and learning more about the lives people experienced before me. I realized that there is so much available to learn from physicians from prior generations. I decided to start this project where I interview doctors from varying specialties to learn more about their perspectives on how medicine has changed since they began practicing.
Healing Through Time further allows me to expand my mentorship network. Throughout my undergraduate studies to the current day, I have been fortunate to be guided by mentors who have helped me navigate the challenging pre-medical landscape. I have also acted as a mentor myself in both research and clinical settings. As mentioned in the first episode of my podcast during my conversation with Dr. Joel Wolk, mentors are critical in directing young physicians towards their ideal careers. I hope that Healing Through Time will provide me with connections to experienced doctors who have gone through this process in the past and can provide you and me with unique perspectives about the current healthcare system.
